Hello world, I'm rjbruin, and I'm the project leader of Cities At War. I started using Game Maker about three years ago, when my friend Neanderthaler told me about it. I got interested pretty soon, and started making my own games. My first games weren't that good, but I did gain some experience. I got better over the years. When I knew GM for about a half year, I decided to join the Dutch contest "Make-A-Game" together with Neanderthaler and another friend. We didn't win, unfortunately. I guess we didn't because we didn't take enough time to test the game. It ended up being uploaded while still containing a bug. About a a little more than half year later, I finished my first kinda serious game, called 'Treasure 2'. Another half year later, I finished 'Race'. These games can be found at YoYoGames.com. I've worked on Cities At War a half year yet. Until I lost motivation to go on. I became a member of Xsoft Games, and when that team became active again, I thought I'd to this project with the whole team. And that's where we are now.
